The best sulforaphane supplement is not the bottle with the biggest broccoli number. Human pharmacokinetic research shows that active myrosinase, precursor form, food processing and delivery design can change actual sulforaphane exposure several-fold.
For this 2026 ranking, we therefore ignored generic “broccoli extract” marketing and judged products on the variables that matter most: chemical form, active myrosinase or direct sulforaphane delivery, label transparency, human evidence, finished-product quality controls, usability and value.

How this ranking was produced
Last verified: October 15, 2026. We reviewed the current manufacturer pages and label information for DoNotAge SulforaBoost, Avmacol Extra Strength and Jarrow BroccoMax, then cross-checked their formulation claims against the human pharmacokinetic and clinical evidence in our 37-paper Sulforaphane Data Center.
Products were judged in a fixed editorial order: delivery logic and label clarity first, product-specific human evidence second, finished-product and manufacturer testing transparency third, then usability and value. We did not assign fake precision with arbitrary percentage weights, and a product could win a specific category even when it did not rank #1 overall.
What we independently verified: current ingredient/serving information, whether active myrosinase is stated, current manufacturer quality-control claims, and the published human evidence linked to each formulation strategy. What we did not do: Biohack Blueprint did not independently chemically assay the current retail lots or run a blinded head-to-head absorption test. Manufacturer GMP, ISO, batch-testing and potency statements are therefore identified as manufacturer-reported rather than our own laboratory findings.
Our DoNotAge affiliate relationship is disclosed because SulforaBoost ranks first overall. Avmacol still wins our “best for branded clinical-study depth” category, which is the correct outcome when the evidence points there.
Our #1 overall pick: DoNotAge SulforaBoost®. Avmacol Extra Strength remains the stronger choice for readers who prioritize direct branded human-trial depth above formula simplicity. Jarrow BroccoMax is our strongest value-oriented comparator.

How we ranked sulforaphane supplements
A useful ranking has to start with what human absorption studies actually teach us.
Fresh broccoli sprouts generated substantially greater exposure than a tested broccoli supplement whose myrosinase had been inactivated.[1] Adding mustard-seed myrosinase to a glucoraphanin-rich extract increased average sulforaphane bioavailability from 18.6% to 39.8% in a 2026 crossover study.[2] A separate human feeding study showed that mustard-derived myrosinase could increase sulforaphane exposure from cooked broccoli more than fourfold.[3]
Those data lead to six ranking criteria:
- Delivery logic: preformed/stabilized sulforaphane or glucoraphanin paired with active myrosinase ranks above opaque precursor-only formulas.
- Label clarity: we want to know what the milligram number actually measures.
- Human evidence: product-specific trial data receive extra weight, but category-level bioavailability evidence also matters.
- Quality controls: manufacturing and testing transparency improve confidence in the finished product.
- Formula discipline: unnecessary ingredients can make it harder to know what drives an effect.
- Value and usability: dose format, serving flexibility and real-world cost matter after the evidence basics are met.

#1 — DoNotAge SulforaBoost®: best overall
Why it ranks first: SulforaBoost gets the most important formulation principle right: it pairs broccoli-seed glucoraphanin with active myrosinase rather than relying on gut microbial conversion alone.
The current DoNotAge page lists a 230 mg combined SulforaBoost formula per capsule and recommends one to two capsules daily. That 230 mg is the weight of the combined formula—not 230 mg of free sulforaphane—and we consider that distinction essential.
The ingredient list is unusually simple for the category: the active system is glucoraphanin + myrosinase, with a vegan capsule rather than a long stack of additional actives. DoNotAge also currently states GMP/ISO9001 production and batch testing/verification. Biohack Blueprint has not independently assayed the current retail lot, so we report those as manufacturer quality-control statements rather than our own lab result.
Why the formulation makes sense
Multiple human studies support active myrosinase as a meaningful determinant of glucoraphanin-to-sulforaphane conversion. That includes preserved plant enzyme, added mustard-seed enzyme, raw-vs-cooked food models and direct supplement-like crossover data.[4][2]
What those studies do not prove is that this exact SulforaBoost retail bottle has superior long-term clinical outcomes. Our #1 ranking is based on the complete product package—formulation logic, simplicity, current quality-control transparency, usability and value—not a claim that SulforaBoost itself was used in every sulforaphane trial.
What we like
- Active myrosinase is built into the precursor system.
- Simple active formula.
- Clear current per-capsule combined formula weight.
- DoNotAge states batch testing and recognized manufacturing standards.
- Available in multiple bottle sizes.
- BB10 gives 10% off eligible standalone DoNotAge purchases.
What to understand before buying
- 230 mg per capsule is combined formula weight, not 230 mg of sulforaphane.
- The current label does not let us convert that formula weight into one guaranteed milligram amount of absorbed sulforaphane.
- Better bioavailability logic does not guarantee a disease-treatment or longevity outcome.

#2 — Avmacol® Extra Strength: best for branded human-trial depth
Avmacol earns the #2 position because its branded formulation has an unusually deep clinical-research footprint for a supplement in this category. The current manufacturer describes a Sulforaphane Production System® combining broccoli seed/sprout glucoraphanin with active myrosinase (Myrosimax®), and Extra Strength also includes beta-glucan/Maitake components.
Most importantly, Avmacol has been used directly in human research. A 2025 randomized schizophrenia trial tested Avmacol Extra Strength as an add-on to antipsychotics and reported greater improvement in negative-symptom scores than placebo over 24 weeks.[5]
A human pharmacokinetic pilot using an active-myrosinase broccoli formulation also showed that gastric acidity and enteric coating can change precursor conversion, adding useful formulation evidence beyond the simple fact that myrosinase is present.[6]
Why we do not rank it #1 overall
If your sole criterion is branded clinical-study depth, Avmacol can reasonably be your first choice. Our overall ranking gives additional weight to formula simplicity, commercial value and current quality-control positioning. Avmacol Extra Strength also adds other active components, which may be desirable for some users but makes it less minimalist than SulforaBoost.
Best fit
- Buyers who prioritize a commercial formulation with substantial direct human-study use.
- People comfortable with a multi-component formula rather than a minimalist glucoraphanin + myrosinase system.

#3 — Jarrow BroccoMax®: best value-oriented comparator
BroccoMax is a straightforward established broccoli-seed product that uses the same core delivery logic we look for in precursor-based products: glucoraphanin plus myrosinase.
The current Jarrow listing identifies a 35 mg strength, and current label records describe 35 mg sulforaphane glucosinolate per two-capsule serving from broccoli seed extract in a proprietary blend containing myrosinase enzyme. The product uses delayed-release vegetable capsules.
That is materially more useful than a generic “500 mg broccoli powder” label because at least the glucoraphanin-related component and enzyme strategy are defined.
Why it ranks below SulforaBoost and Avmacol
BroccoMax has solid delivery logic and attractive value, but it does not have Avmacol's branded clinical-trial depth, and our overall editorial preference remains SulforaBoost's combination of formula simplicity, DoNotAge quality-control positioning and direct review ecosystem.
Best fit
- Value-conscious buyers who still want a myrosinase-containing glucoraphanin system.
- People who prefer an established delayed-release broccoli-seed product.

What we excluded from the ranking
We did not reward a product merely for having a large broccoli-extract number, because extract weight does not tell you how much glucoraphanin is present or how much sulforaphane the body will generate.
We also did not automatically rank direct sulforaphane above precursor systems. Stabilized direct sulforaphane can be a rational delivery strategy, but formulation stability and tolerability matter. A 2025 Phase I trial of stabilized enteric-coated sulforaphane demonstrated defined pharmacokinetics while also reporting frequent, mostly mild gastrointestinal adverse events at high pharmacologic doses.[7]
Do you even need a supplement?
No. Fresh broccoli sprouts are a legitimate food-based glucoraphanin + myrosinase delivery system and have direct human pharmacokinetic evidence. They can outperform poorly designed or myrosinase-inactivated supplements.[1]
A supplement mainly buys convenience and more reproducible preparation. See broccoli sprouts vs sulforaphane supplements for the food-first decision.
How to choose the right sulforaphane supplement
- Identify what the label number means. Extract weight, glucoraphanin, combined formula weight and sulforaphane are different measurements.
- If it uses glucoraphanin, look for active myrosinase.
- Prefer finished-product transparency and quality-control information.
- Match branded evidence to the exact product tested.
- Do not assume higher precursor weight equals higher absorbed sulforaphane.
- Choose the product that fits your priorities: overall package, branded research depth, or value.
Bottom line
Our 2026 ranking is #1 DoNotAge SulforaBoost, #2 Avmacol Extra Strength and #3 Jarrow BroccoMax.
SulforaBoost wins our overall position because it combines the core evidence-backed formulation principle—glucoraphanin plus active myrosinase—with a simple formula, current DoNotAge quality-control claims and strong partner value. Avmacol is the stronger choice if direct branded human-trial depth dominates your decision. BroccoMax is the strongest value-oriented option in this shortlist.
Whatever you choose, do not shop this category by broccoli-extract milligrams. The human literature is unusually clear: formulation determines exposure.
