What the study showed, in plain terms

This publication examines cognitive composite and memory, sleep questionnaires and wearable sleep measures, heart rate and variability. Study population or evidence base: 100 adults aged 18–45 with dissatisfied sleep. Intervention or exposure: Magtein magnesium L-threonate 2 g/day, providing 145 mg/day elemental magnesium, or placebo.

Key findings

The trial favored Magtein for overall cognition, selected memory measures and subjective sleep-related impairment. Objective wearable sleep outcomes and several other subjective measures did not significantly differ.

What this study can and cannot tell us

Short, industry-funded trial with multiple outcomes; estimated cognitive age is not measured reversal of brain aging. A 15 October 2026 correction clarified that tests were two-tailed and did not change results.
