What the study showed, in plain terms

This publication examines composite cognitive performance, executive function, sleep and anxiety. Study population or evidence base: 44 adults aged 50–70 with cognitive complaints. Intervention or exposure: MMFS-01 magnesium L-threonate formulation, 1.5–2 g/day according to body weight, or placebo.

Key findings

The active group improved on the composite cognitive score relative to placebo. Sleep and anxiety effects could not be separated clearly from placebo responses.

What this study can and cannot tell us

Small, short, formulation-specific study. It does not establish dementia prevention, and the studied amount of magnesium L-threonate was substantially above 250 mg/day.
