What the study showed, in plain terms

This early Japanese placebo-controlled trial tested 240 mg/day oral hyaluronic acid in 22 adults with dry skin for six weeks. Later reviews report improved skin moisture and dry-skin measures versus placebo. Because the original paper is an older Japanese-language source with limited modern indexing, it is preserved as lower-tier primary evidence rather than weighted like a recent large RCT.
