What the study showed, in plain terms

This publication examines incident pre-frailty, incident frailty. Study population or evidence base: 1,137 participants classified as robust at baseline. Intervention or exposure: D3 2,000 IU/day, omega-3 1 g/day and/or home exercise.

Key findings

The three interventions together reduced the odds of becoming pre-frail. Individual interventions were not significant, and no regimen significantly reduced incident frailty.

What this study can and cannot tell us

A secondary analysis with few frailty cases and a combination-specific result. The findings do not isolate an independent vitamin D effect.
