What the study showed, in plain terms

COVID-FISETIN is a Mayo Clinic Phase 2 placebo-controlled study of a two-day fisetin course in hospitalized adults with COVID-19. The trial asks whether fisetin can reduce deterioration in oxygenation, hyperinflammation and disease progression.

As of September 2026, the registry still lists the study as active but not recruiting and no results are posted. The estimated completion date has arrived, but estimated completion is not the same as published outcomes.

Key findings

  • Target enrollment is 80 hospitalized adults.
  • The registered fisetin regimen is approximately 20 mg/kg/day for two consecutive days.
  • No outcome results were posted at the September 2026 check.

What this study can and cannot tell us

  • No results available.
  • Acute hospitalized COVID-19 is a disease-specific context and cannot answer general longevity questions.
  • Estimated completion dates do not establish that the study has completed or that results exist.
