Study snapshot

DesignRandomized double-blind four-period crossover trial
ModelHuman
Sample18 recreationally active men
InterventionPlacebo, creatine monohydrate 0.3 g/kg, L-arginine 6 g, or combined L-arginine plus creatine; testing 60 minutes after ingestion
DurationAcute crossover sessions
EndpointsRepeated-sprint average power; Repeated-sprint peak power; Countermovement jump; Stroop reaction time

What the study showed, in plain terms

Very recent acute crossover trial testing whether combining creatine with L-arginine adds performance or cognitive effects beyond either supplement alone.

Key findings

The combined condition improved selected sprint, jump and reaction-time outcomes versus some comparators, but factorial analysis did not establish a statistically robust creatine-by-arginine interaction for the co-primary outcomes.

What this study can and cannot tell us

Small male-only sample, acute design, potential carryover and unmodelled period/sequence effects; results are exploratory and do not establish biological synergy.
